Wow.
As though science and medicine don't already have enough difficulty attracting the best and the brightest. Now this, as reported in the New York Times.
Life after cancer treatment. Trying to live like I'm cured.
I hope this blog will attract other people who are grappling with life after cancer treatment, other people who are fingers-crossed cured and attempting to move on with their lives. The backstory: I was diagnosed with cancer in April 2005. I was a happily married newlywed of 7 months and looking forward to starting a family. I completed active treatment in July 2006-- the path to a cure included two surgeries, 8 rounds of chemo, 6 weeks of radiation and a year of a miraculous wonder-drug called Herceptin.
